Interlaken (570 m ü.M.)
ist die Metropole des
Berner Oberlandes. Ideal gelegen zwischen
Thuner- und Brienzersee ist Interlaken das Tor
zur Jungfrau-Region. Der Bahnhof Interlaken Ost
ist Treffpunkt dreier Bahngesellschaften (BLS,
SBB Brünig und BOB) sowie zweier Spurweiten
(BLS: Normalspur; BOB und SBB Brünig:
Meterspur) und Stromsysteme (BLS und SBB
Brünig: 15 kV ~ 16 2/3 Hz; BOB 1500 V =).
Interlaken (1848 ft.) is
the metropole ot the
Bernese Oberland. Located ideally between the
lakes of Thun and Brienz Interlaken is the gate to
the Jungfrau region. The Interlaken Ost railway
station is meeting point of three railway com-
panies (BLS, SBB Brünig and BOB) and of two
gauges (BLS: normal gauge; BOB and SBB
Brünig: metric gauge) and current systems (BLS and SBB Brünig: 15 kV AC 16 2/3 Hz; BOB
1500 VDC).
